New theme here at WordPressGarage
November 5, 2007 – 7:17 am | by Miriam SchwabIf you’re reading this in a feed reader, come on over to WordPressGarage.com to check out our new theme. I felt like it was time for a change, and decided to go with fall colors for this season. Please let me know what you think - do you like it, hate it, miss the old theme, etc.? Are there any bugs or other weird things that you’ve noticed?
Nothing is set in stone, so we can always go back, but I kind of got sick of looking at the old theme.

Um … wouldn’t be my pick of design.
Although I kinda liked the old one.

Ryan - I knew you wouldn’t like it. What don’t you like?
I’ll probably keep this one for a bit and then go back to the old one to keep everyone happy, i.e. me and my readers. I actually like this design, even if it doesn’t match my topic.

It reminds me of my grandmothers living room. It wont stop me from visiting your site though. Content is king IMO. Although I pretty design is what catches my eye initially.
For what it’s worth, here’s a few links to blog designs which I like:

And dare I sat it! Here’s an example of a design I don’t like:

Although I don’t like the design, I do still regularly visit Lorelles website as like I said above “Content is King”.

Oops, could you fix the following for me please.
“Although I pretty design”
that should have been
“Although a pretty design”
and darn it, WordPress needs an ‘edit comment’ function!

Keep in mind one of those things Lorelle mentioned in her talk at WordCamp-let the design reflect the content. If this were my blog, I’d love it. ;D

Jennifer - Thanks! I know about the contrast issue, but I actually like it. It’s like when you’re watching a movie, and there’s a war scene with happy music in the background. Or something like that. If enough people protest, or I see my stats going down, I’ll change, but in the meantime I’m going to stick with this.

Az teetchadshi and use it in good health (tfu!) Let me just knit up some antimacassars for the side chairs then, ok?

Hey Miriam,
You may want to apply an overflow:hidden or similar to your comments boxes as they’re blowing out the side of the box with long URL’s. I noticed it after my most recent comment … http://wordpressgarage.com/tips/giving-each-wordpress-post-a-thumbnail-and-display-the-thumbnail-on-the-home-page/

@Ryan - ugh, you’re right. I’ll do that now. BTW, did you notice that Grandma’s sofa pattern is no longer?

Whoa! Bright maroon and no overflow.

Are you making fun of me? How’s this now with a brown background?
I think I’m going to have to change themes again. Darn.

I wasn’t criticising the brown. Just pointing out how noticeable it was.
The brown is too similar to your header.

“I wasn’t criticising the brown.”
was meant to be …
“I wasn’t criticising the maroon.”
